In-Kind Gifts

What are Gifts In-Kind? In-kind gifts are contributions of goods or services rather than cash. Carver Center currently accepts in-kind donations of food only. Please contact our Front Desk at (914) 305-6009 to discuss the details of your food donation.

Gifts from Donor Advised Funds

To make a gift online from a Donor Advised Fund:
To make a gift through your fund manager, please have the check made payable to Port Chester Carver Center and mailed to: Port Chester Carver Center, PO Box 429, Port Chester, NY 10573. Ask your fund manager to include your name with the gift so we can properly acknowledge and thank you.

Gifts of Stock

A gift of securities such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds can provide meaningful benefits for both you and Port Chester Carver Center. When these assets have been held for more than one year, you may avoid capital gains taxes on appreciated value while also receiving a charitable income tax deduction for the full market value. If you plan to make a transfer, please contact us with the name of the security and number of shares so we can properly acknowledge and thank you.

Gifts of Through Your IRA

Donating from your IRA can be a tax-smart way to support Port Chester Carver Center. If you are age 70 1/2 or older, you may transfer up to $100,000 annually directly to charity without paying income tax, and it can count toward your required minimum distribution. If you are between 59 1/2 and 70 1/2, you can still make a gift from your IRA without penalty, though taxes may apply, so it is best to consult your advisor and ensure your name is included with the transfer.
