Our Workforce & Career Pathways programs provide youth with the skills and experience needed to enter the workforce. Participants receive job readiness training along with paid, hands-on work opportunities across a variety of industries. These experiences help build confidence, develop practical skills, and prepare young adults for future employment.

Summer Youth  Employment Program

Summer jobs that build your future

Carver Center receives grants from the Westchester Putnam Workforce Development Board for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).

The contract provides funding for youth between the ages of 14 and 20 with job-readiness skills, training and summer employment opportunities. Students work at the Carver Market and Camp Carver, and with our community partners

Youth Employment Program

Learn job skills while helping our community

The Youth Employment Program provides eligible Westchester County youth ages 17 – 20 with job readiness skills training and paid work experience at a rate of $16.50 per hour. Work experience consists of entry-level jobs in a variety of industries, including government agencies, non-profits, small businesses, and retail organizations.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be 17 to 20 years old

Must be a year-round Westchester Resident

Must meet NY TANF/State income guidelines

Must have a social security card

Must participate in scheduled job readiness workshops
